About Sherryl Lapping

Sherryl Lapping I was born in Savannah, GA. After obtaining a degree in journalism and social work, I returned to my first love, art. I began painting realism, mostly wildlife.

Recently, I have been experimenting with more impressionistic paintings and portraits. My preferred medium is acrylics for blocking in basic form and tones on the canvas. Then I use oils to develop the painting until it is time to let it go. I plan the outcome before even touching the brush with paint but usually end up deviating a bit before the painting is finished.
